Long story short it’s been at a insurance approved repairer as nominated by the claims management company for 10 weeks.

My insurer directed me to this management company after the non fault claim and it’s been a bit of a rough ride.

Firstly the replacement car was subcontracted 3 times to a smallish hire company who delivered a car with a mileage cheat device. Car returned.

Another replacement car arrived off a National hire company; all ok.

Car is repaired by the bodyshop, and then taken to a VW dealer for some specialist parts of the repair to be carried out such as setting up lane departure. I inspected the car whilst it was there and the repair, though theoretically incomplete, is horrendous. Email bodyshop and claims company my concerns and from then on in they don’t communicate with me any longer.

I’ve done everything by email to keep a record of all discussions.

Spoke to VW, car is still sat at the dealership, it’s been there for the last 4 weeks with the bill unpaid and until it’s paid it’s staying there.

I’m concerned that the hire car bill is amassing due to incompetence, and rightly so the third party may contest this.

Anyone got any advice on how I can progress this?

Have you told your insurer of the problems and asked them to fix it?

Yes, I’m getting pretty blank responses like “we’ll chase it up”
