Quick insurance question
Discussion
I have two insurance policies in my name on separate cars.
Policy A - I have just made a claim on
Policy B - I need to change the vehicle mid policy.
Question is, do I need to let Policy B insurer know about the Policy A claim while I'm changing vehicle only or is this just something I need to inform them of at renewal time? I'm not trying to pull the wool over the insurers eyes, it's just that one option is 30 seconds online and the other requires a phone call which will have to wait until a convenient time.

No obligation to inform insurers of convictions, or claims on other policies, until renewal.
And before someone says "read your policy", it doesn't matter. This is within the ABI code and the 2015 Insurance Act and overrides individual insurers' desires. If you do tell them, they are not allowed to charge you extra mid term, but can make an admin charge to note it, so best leave it until renewal. But DON'T FORGET!

Thanks Twig. As it turned out, my current insurers couldn't cover me on this car anyway so I had to take out a new policy and declare the claim. Didn't seem to have much impact fortunately. Appreciate your input, thanks
