Pull out then go slow types
Discussion
Why do they do this? there's nothing behind you, but they sit at a junction - waiting for you to be right on top of them at legal speeds, then pull out suddenly.. and then struggle to reach 90% of the speed limit within a reasonable time.
They could have waited a few seconds and gone as slow as they like. Even if a car has a poor 0-60 time, I would expect it is possible for almost anyone to reach say0mph within 10 seconds. But no! and then they get annoyed if you dare to do a legal overtake. Just why..? If you don't overtake them you are doomed to a pointlessly long extension to your journey. All they had to do was wait a few seconds for you to pass!
Then there are the ones who move off so slow at a traffic light that you only get half the cars through. These people are causing more pollution by trying to save their own fuel.
And relax.

Driving back from Cornwall yesterday, I was surprised at the number of drivers on the M5 who would pull out sharply from L2 to L3, between us and the car ahead, before braking sharply because they'd misjudged the manoeuvre.
Driving standards in the UK are at an all-time low as incompetence breeds with entitlement.

I find this to be the case with people who have recently passed/elderly drivers or taxi drivers. They could have waited a few seconds and gone as slow as they like. I expect on dodderyslowcoachheads.com there is a post about maniacs who scream up behind you when you have pulled out onto a main road.
There does seem to be a paradox where the slower a car is, the less prepared the driver is to floor it (once you take young chaps out of the equation). I regularly travel up and down a non-motorway stretch of the A1 and it's surprising how many people will amble out in front of an HGV or into 70mph traffic and seemingly never rev their engine over 3,000 rpm. Whereas I frequently get someone kindly moving out to give me a gap and then never catching me.

Along a local NSL B-road, there's a couple of country lanes that join from opposite sides, but offset from each other by about 500 yards. What will happen is traffic emerging from one country lane will take the B road purely for access to the next country lane. It is incredibly common for a driver to pull up to either of these junctions, pull out ahead of a vehicle already established on the major road, then immediately pop an offside indicator on as they approach their next turn, causing the established traffic to brake down from 60mph purely because the other driver didn't either have the patience to wait for traffic to clear, or didn't have the courtesy or foresight to think it would be inconvenient and discourteous to pull out ahead of someone who has priority. Especially, knowing that your planned route is going to virtually immediately impede others.
I started using my dads old Smart CDI over winter as a run around, it only had 54bhp to start with now running about 75-80 so it goes a lot better, perfectly capable of 60 or 70 all day long, will reach into the 90's now.
I've noticed everybody pulls out on you in it. Had one the other day do it in some new Mercedes SUV thing, I was doing 62-64 and the road was straight and nothing coming the other way so I simply carried on doing my speed and overtook, the Mercedes then sped up to tailgate me.

I don’t get this behaviour either, they are clearly not in a rush going off their glacial acceleration speed so why the desperate rush to pull out?
I drive HGV’s and a common one is people following you on an NSL road, I’m doing the 50 limit, a dual carriageway apears, they pass then as it returns to single lane they slow to less than the 50 I’m still doing, why?!

This is the thing that I cannot get my head around, the last minute do or die (but actually craw along after you've pulled out) when there is nothing behind me, nothing. They are either totally unaware of your presence or really DGAF.

This in spades, plus no thought for other people, its not just when driving, you see this sort of entitled behaviour all the time, had it in a shop the other day, lady in front of me in the que, suddenly decides she has forgoten something, so goes off to get said item, then walks back infront of me, instaid of joining the back of the que, when i called her out she just said, well this is my place in the que, i gouldnt be arsed to argue, as she obviously couldnt see the problem and never wouldDon't get me started on these. It's one of the most aggravating things that happen on the roads. Just a complete lack of regard for other road users whatsoever.
Also, the ones who dawdle slowly up to the lights that are on green, dawdle on through just after they have turned red, and leave you behind absolutely fuming.

Bonus points if they pull out and then signal to turn right a few hundred yards up the road. At which point they will wait for zero oncoming traffic before executing the manoeuvre. They could have waited a few seconds and gone as slow as they like. Had this last night.
Coming down the road at 50-55 in 60. I let off a little as always when I see a car at a juntion just in case they pull out. Then they pulled out at the last minute and proceeded to do 25.
I overtook a about 15 seconds later and got a right good flashing.
This never used to happen in the pickup I had, but does now I'm in the Mustang!

It is weird, they can get out in front of you like Usain Bolt, then turn into a motorised Sloth once out, it is intensely annoying.
It's like going into a restaurant and the waiter introducing themselves, they go,
"Hello my name is Ron and this is Elsie, we will be your designated dawdlers today, we have been allocated to you as you had a nice clear stretch, a few good bends coming up and traffic is light so we are here to bugger that up for you. We will be cruising at approximately 44 mph except when there is a chance to overtake when we will amble up to 150 if it looks like you may just get past"

Like a story I read about recently where an SUV turned in front of a truck and got smashed.
This was in the Australian outback, the SUV was saving possibly seconds in what was probably a long long drive. The road train hit the SUV and totaled it.
Completly oblivious to anyone else on the road or planet.

What really gets my goat is when they pull out in front of you when you’re the only oncoming car for miles forcing you to brake and slow down
Then within 200 yards they indicate right and stop at a minor junction waiting to turn making you come to a complete standstill
All while you look in the rear view mirror which remains completely clear
Never understand it
