My daughters Fiat 500 is going in for it's MOT on Monday and I have just found a slight noise from the steering. It is only very slight and my guess would be a bearing in the column. There is no play or roughness. How likely is this to be a fail? I have no time to fix it between now and then, so would you just take it in and see what they do?

What else can you do?

Possibly cancel it or re-schedule the MOT. More interested really in whether it may or may not fail.

Take it for the MOT and you'll know, at minimal cost.

I think you are right. That's my thoughts too.

If there is no play, its not going to be an issue. You will need a mm or 2 of movement to get a fail. You may get an advisory but my guess is they won't even comment on a noise. Unless of cause the noise is coming from somewhere else.
