Trip today from deepest Essex to Suffolk and back. Three sets of roadworks which have been going on for months with little sign of progress. A120 barrier replacement around Braintree. A12 around Colchester resurfacing and barrier. A14 Stowmarket to Bury StEdmunds not sure what they're doing here due to the contraflow. Not particularly long stretches given the time taken but seem to have been months and months. Why?

It is like that in many parts of Essex, agree. Only in my part of Essex they are - at last!!! - doing the roadworks at night. So no temporary lights and long jams. Still taking forever though.

To be fair, A12 and A14 works are a bit more than merely resurfacing. The entire road is being replaced and finally getting rid of that awful concrete. If they closed it to do it it would be traffic carnage in the area so I suppose it just takes a long time to do in a piecemeal fashion.

No idea with the Braintree thing. Seems an awfully long speed restriction with currently little to show for it.
