Are you surprised?

Even if you do find someone to take the risk, you are going to get reamed.

Good luck!

A taxi everywhere would be cheaper with a driving record like this...

Code Description Penalty points Period endorsements remain on licence (years)
AC10 Failing to stop after an accident 5-10 4
AC20 Failing to give particulars or to report an accident within 24 hours 5-10 4
DD40 Dangerous Driving 3-11 4

I understand its not great but pretty sure theres people that has worse on the licence and are able to get insured the dd40 ac20 and ac10 where combined an banned for 18months in 2021.
I understand insurance itsnt going to be cheap but 30k to insure anything is abit off a con. Adrian flux is also a no go as they screwed me over.

Made a table as I found that hard to read.

+ 2 non-fault claims
+ 1 fault claim

@op, how many points did you get for the infractions, or did you get 0 points and a driving ban? Have you done an extended retest?
Were all the infractions the same incident? (same date?)

The fault accident was in 2020 and coury date for convictions was 28/01/2021

No point received just a 18month ban
Ac10 ac20 and dd40 all convictions for the 1 accident.

Done extended driving test in 2022 after ban was up.

For what I've just read, I suggest OP deletes this thread as it's self-incriminating. Reporting.

Why did you bother asking then complain straight away. Makes no sense at all.

I'm not complaining, I'm looking out for you. Insurers look at these forums and I don't want you getting humped.

Edited to add -- I see the post of most concern is gone. Good.

Which is it? You can't get insurance anywhere or you can but you don't like the price?

Out of interest what is the car you are trying to insure?

Have you tried comparison sites?

Well obviously 30k price for insurance is basically not a quote as who in the right mind is going to pay it. Obviously your not on here to help so dont know why you really bothered to comment.

Try compare NI https://www.compareni.com/index.htm they compare across all providers who do business in NI so should give you an idea.

Failing that try other brokers?

I'm am member of Institute of Advanced Motorists IAM, I get reduced insurance through their preferred broker Cornmarket who incidentally is Belfast based. Very easy to deal with but even my insurance is creeping up and I always shop around at renewal time. They usually meet or beat any other cheaper quote I get.

You're not a member of IAM but it's worth trying to get it to improve your driving skills and ultimately the safety of yourself and others. It will also help you get cheaper insurance. Check them out.

A billionaire might pay it. I know an oligarch's son who paid £30K for insurance about 10 years ago, but that was for 2 cars, a BMW M6 and a Merc SL55. He was 19 and lived in Central London.

£30K is not a no quote, it's an expensive quote. But if they think there's a decent chance you're going to cost them £25K in claims, then it's a fair price that builds in enough for admin dealing with the claims and gives them a profit.

With that record 30k looks reasonable. They figure you are almost certain to prang whatever you’re driving and they have no idea what you might cost them for whatever or whoever you hit.
