Lamborghini Revuelto sold out for two years

Want one of Lamborghini's 1,015hp PHEVs? A new order now won't be fulfilled until 2025 at the earliest...

Giving the customer what they want is something Lamborghini has got very, very good at of late. Even in the days of the Murcielago, it felt like a fairly small supercar player; from the Huracan onwards, however, they’ve been shooting for the stars at Sant’Agata. More than 20,000 Uruses have been sold, and a €1.9bn investment will see hybridization of the entire range by the end of next year. And already that money pumped in is paying dividends, with the new Revuelto - the first car of the second phase of Lambo’s ‘Direzione Cor Tauri’ project - now sold out for more than two years.

It's impressive for a number of reasons. The first being that the car was only shown at the end of March, so all those sales have been spoken for in less than four months. Second is the cost, the 1,015hp V12 plug-in is expected to cost more than £400,000 before any wild Ad Personam extras. Which is not an inconsequential amount of money even by 2023's inflated standards.

Plus there was the Revuelto’s status as a PHEV; not one that’s going to be used on electric range very much, but still the most significant powertrain update for the V12 Lamborghini in a very long time. A pessimist might have worried that the customers wouldn’t have taken to the new tech - but apparently not a bit of it.

The Revuelto is in production now. The Sant’Agata factory is employing something called Manifattura Lamborghini Next Level to make it, an approach described as “a production system with people always at its core but which we adapted to deliver a much more complex product and to integrate processes we haven’t used before”, according to Chief Manufacturing Officer Ranieri Niccoli. It will still be a labour of love to create one, that’s for sure. Great news if your order will be fulfilled soon and the wait for a 1,015hp Lamborghini is nearly over - less so if that wait is now until 2026…

Good theyve given it some oomph as I used to feel rather sorry for the Aventadors getting bloody noses up the VMAX200 run way by SWMBO and Minty. Aventadors even SVs and SVJs actually not very fast cars. Lovely though see one most mornings I'm parked next to. A very nice green final edition.

That is impressive and no less than what Lamborghini deserve. To think before Audi stepped in, only the Diablo was on offer.

I guess the next Revuelto on offer will be a Roadster than S variant.

It was the dodgy single clutch transmission that let the car down. Aventadors are quick, see Ring times for SV and SVJ. But rivals in Ferrari, Porsche, and McLaren were lighter and had dual clutch transmissions. Naturally the skill of the driver counts.

Have to see this new one in the flesh but in pics it looks a bit average tbh I’m amazed they’re sold out at £500k a pop with a bit of spec. Prefer the Final Edition I see most mornings it’s stunning .

This electric hybrid should fix I’d say it’s more a relative lack of torque that lets them down as well as the gearbox. Have to be honest if i was an owner I wouldn’t care I’d love to drive the Lambo i see most mornings. It’s breath taking looks wise. Very pretty the last ones and tasteful too for a Lambo. That dark met green they come in very classy.

‘The Brits’? Does that mean that people in Ireland get the pronunciation absolutely spot on then?

An SVJ does 0-124mph in less than nine seconds. I realise we're all a bit desensitised to big performance on PH, but I think 'not very fast' is stretching it a bit hehe

The thing I really like about this, and I don't know if it's true, but it SEEMS like you can actually order one of these, you just have to wait? As opposed to Porsche and Ferrari flagships where the response is "sorry sir, they're not sold out you're just not on the 'approved to buy' list"

That’s of course fast but put a Macca or an electric sports car now theyre properly rapid! A 992 turbo s doing that in 7 maybe 8 secs secs nowadays on virtually any surface.

it is weird, during past times of hardship, everyone suffered, but seems like only the poor now, the rich, get stinking more richer, hence the rise of trillion dollar luxury industry.

Sure it is a great car, but just feels mass produced now.

Maybe 1000 cars a year I'd guesstimate. Incredible job selling first two years production at say £500k to £550k per unit.

Bugger, a 2 year wait for 1…

If I order 2, would I get them in:

1 year?

Or

4 years?

The problem is real…
