Admiral decided on increasing our premium for the 3 cars to £1800 from £1400

Of course I’m going to shop around but it’s a faff with 3 cars etc

Which companies make it easy or do I use a Confused type thing.

Fyi out of a RR 5.0 SC and a Hyundai Ioniq old shape the bloody Hyundai costs more to insure!

28% increase is lower than many are reporting -when you called them did they offer anything off that increase ?
Direct Line and also LV I believe both offer multi car policies.

I had an Admiral multicar a couple of years ago, then they tried a big increase on me so I moved to four different insurers. Its a right ballsache as I now have to faff around with four cars to be covered on the same date rather than staggered through the year as they were.

Confused.com is a much better interface than meerkat as far as I can see, as it remembers drivers. Meerkat made me enter all the details every time which got tedious. That said, confused wouldn't quote for me at all this year, maybe a fault on the day.

I tried Admiral again this year on a multicar basis as they came out cheapest on meerkat for my 20 y/o daughter's mini, but still far cheaper to insure each separately.

Rates have gone up; after shopping round I was able to limit the overall increase to 10% over last year. Cheaper policies have quietly excluded stuff like windscreen cover so make sure you are comparing like with like.

Op phone them up with the quotes they'll bring the price down, I played pig headed and moved the lot away, won't make that mistake again for a couple of quid, total nightmare. Will be going back next year.

I had the same with them. I called and told them I had a cheaper quote (I didn’t) and managed to get a few hundred quid off each vehicle and paid almost the same as the year before.

Call them up and they'll pretty much give you a discount straight away. Then say you're going to shop around unless they give you a further discount and they'll give you some more off. Same thing each year and I don't bother wasting time doing separate single policy quotes any more as Admiral multicar has always been very competitive.

LV are unlikely to touch an RR though, having pretty much said that a few years ago.

Personally considering you have an RR given the current climate I think that quote is okay, oddly.

It’s an old one L322 but lovely - not really that desireable

I find the Aviva site easy to use. Also it simple to play around with quotes if you are thinking of changing cars or drivers

Result - well done.
Just shows what companies like Admiral try and pass off as “ treating customers fairly “ though with their original renewal quote.

Had the same a few months ago, I can't recall how much the increase was but it was nearing 100% increase on my car as I recall. I called them up and managed to get a £60 reduction.

Needless to say I managed to get both cars insured separately for the same as the 2022 price.
