Which alloy wheel insurance?
Discussion
If they're factory fit wheels your car insurance will cover them from being nicked etc. If they're diamond "cut" (and not actually diamonds) then I doubt insurance will cover them from an aesthetic point of view (assume thats what you're angling at?) as they will need refurbing at some point... Diamond cut wheels simply don't last...

You can get specific extra insurance policies to cover your wheels (and I think usually tyres) against curbing and pot-hole damage. chriz1 said:
Yes sorry that's what u meant, looking for extra cover for damage and kerbing ( for the Mrs honest)
Not sure if helpful but (i) diamond cut wheels will need refurbing at some point; (ii) I recently paid £120 (inc. VAT) per wheel for a refurb (which I think, when compared to the value of the car, isn't all that bad). Remember that there's a limit to the number of refurbs too.
At least a couple of times my wheels have been scuffed going into potholes. The high line of the windows makes it harder than it used to be.
Iirc what put me off alloy wheel insurance was that any repairs had to go to their approved repairer, which had mixed reviews, and meant getting back via train and taxi. So check the small print.
After 6 years I'm about to get them done so thanks for the info on prices posted earlier.

I have made one successful claim on my AWI, where they arranged a mobile repairer. I've just made a second claim and been told I will be reimbursed up to £100, even though my policy says £200 per claim, 4 claims a year/10 claims in 36 months. I have been quoted £162. I feel a fight coming on...
If they come good, I'll come back here and name them.
And if they don't, of course.
