Not sure if it’s been done before but we need a thread where PHers upload vids of them ragging their cars through tunnels - not just supercars but ideally great engine noises.
I don’t have one to contribute but off you go guys and girls !!
Safety first! Just great sounds - no dangerous driving !!!
Upload away !

I remember the original PH tunnel runs. I’ve still got some videos somewhere, will try and locate. They were pretty cool but died out after a few years.

Fond memories of 40 V6 FTO’s working their way through the tunnels around Canary Wharf then heading up the Thames.

This was all when we had potatoes for phones and it was impossible to capture anything other than wind noise.

Can’t get away with anything like that anymore which is a shame.

Ah Swansea Boy, you must be familiar with the Brynglas tunnel on the M4 by Newport, relatively short but enough to make some loud noises!!

Before all the cameras were put in I used to enjoy giving the tunnels a proper blast. Went down there a few weeks back but being limited to 2nd gear from 20-50 (if you're lucky) just isn't the same as going through in 3rd flat out!!

Used to love ragging my Boxster in any tunnel, or underpass, not the most powerful or thunderous noise ever made, but it did sound wonderful, sadly no videos were ever made.

Yes they've spoiled that. The other day I was coming through there, ready to make a big V8 noise, I backed off from the car in front and wound down the windows ready for the music...

Then some rat faced vaping chav in a farting VAG stbox came through making his ridiculous pops and flatulent four pot noise and ruined it frown

The bute town tunnel used to be good for this, have they made that 5MPH enforced by firing squad yet?

The last time I went on one was in 2014.
In 2013 I organised two early Sunday morning runs around the tunnels, sights and bridges of London for about 70 TVRs.
It was great fun to organise and work out the best route and all the other details.

I imagine it is pretty much impossible now. Too many restrictions, especially for high emitting noisy old gas guzzlers.
And asking 70 people to send Citizen Khan £12.50 a head is the final nail in the coffin, as I very much doubt there is a single ULEZ exempt TVR.
The other problem any organiser faces is that London has the only decent concentration in the UK of enough tunnels in a small area to make the trip worthwhile.

We followed a Lotus exige through Hindhead the other weekend, he was doing the old slow right down then hammer it, then repeat.

Sounded awesome, my 4yo loved it as it was a "noisy yellow racing car" (his words not mine)

I used to do it it my noisier BMWs, my previous Cupra's DSG farts were realllly loud in there too.

Exactly what I was hoping for - the excited mate in the passenger seat is the icing in the cake ! Wish I’d had a phone handy when i used to rag my old v8 through tunnels …

A few years ago I was in my 997 turbo, fitted with a Sharkwerks x-pipes. I was about half a mile from the Hatfield tunnel on the A1(M). As I got nearer, a lovely F-type came into view ahead of me. The driver and I looked at each other and we clearly had exactly the same thought. As the tunnel came up we both changed down a gear or two and gave it the beans. The sound was epic. Both of us middle-aged with greying hair and should have grown out of such things years ago. Once through the tunnel we gave each other a smile and a knowing look and went on our merry ways. For some reason that has stuck with me as one of my favourite driving experiences.

Went through there a couple of weeks ago. A SVR Rangie also joined the noise making and we both had grins at the end...

I still do this at every oppourtunity. The Mrs has even got so used to it, if she's riding passenger she opens the window on her side as I slow down for the tunnel or bridge. The Boxster S is always loud, but the i30N needs the exhaust setting to loud to get the best out of it. I do hope they noise camera's steer clear of tunnels as its always great fun

I remember going to a PH Leeds tunnel run, around 15 years ago (give or take)....

.... Memorable, as someone spun their Trevor in a tunnel after hitting a small stream of water running across the road, spun the wheels and fired it straight into the tunnel wall... RIP front end.

Best I’ve had was the E63 AMG I used to own, thunderous sound!

Recently I took my Alfa GTV with Busso through a tunnel in Wales, made me want a more vocal exhaust for it!
