Which is a bit odd. It's only happened a couple of times but I've gone out to the car after it's been off and locked all night and the radio is on. Both times I've been going to my car so the keys to that one are indoors still.

This morning it's the second time I've gone out to my car and I can hear it from outside, so I don't think it's been on all night.

Any ideas?? It's a 63 plate SMax FWIW.

In the cars I've had, radios turn themselves off when you turn off the ignition , likewise when you turn the ignition on the radio turns on.
There has however been the ability to have the radio on without the ignition, say you're sat in a car park waiting for someone and you don't want the engine running and just sitting there with the ignition on can drain the battery.
From memory you can decide how long you want it to play for before it switches off.

It could be that you accidentally set this and don't notice when you get out of the car and it's still actually playing when you close the door or when perhaps when you lock it and walk away.

Is the car a 1958 Plymouth Fury by any chance?

In my experience weird behaviour from modern cars (including radios turning themselves on) can often be traced back to a low battery.
