Hi All

Can you help I bought a van off a fair sized commercial vehicle dealer today for 13k. Part of my decision was based on the 700 quid they said they had spent on discs and driveshaft for which they provided receipts. When I got home i checked the van and all the discs were worn and no new drive shaft had been fitted. I left a deposit online went to the dealers today test drove and paid bank transfer. Have I rights to return the vehicle or do I need to seek trading standards advice etc?

I think if confronted firmly but politely, the dealer may bluster and mumble excuses, but then do the work. I would keep Trading Standards up your sleeve for now, but it’s too expensive a purchase to ignore the faults.
