Logbook issue, bit of a conundrum
Discussion
Hi all
I bought a used car from a reputable and local dealership 3 weeks ago and have not received my V5C logbook.
I'm aware it can take up to 4 weeks but I'm curious if anyone has ever experienced the issue I'm having.
For context, I have the green new keeper slip and when I search my car on the DVLA, the last issued logbook date is that of the previous keepers and hasn't updated.
I requested a logbook status check from the DVLA and they told me that they have no record of an online application being made and have requested I contact the dealership or fill in a V62.
However, upon contacting the dealership, they have confirmed it has 100% been done online, this isn't the first time they've heard this happen, and have asked that I don't send away a V62 as my logbook will arrive at some point.
Any advice or experience with this? I don't know what to do.

Rightly, or wrongly, many dealers don't send them off for a few weeks in case someone wants to return/reject a car.
So I wouldn't worry just yet.
After 4 weeks just call the dealer to tell them it's not arrived, and I'm sure it'll get posted then.
As I said, I'm not suggesting this is correct practice, it's just what many of them do nowadays.

Not sure that is entirely legal? So I wouldn't worry just yet.

All the ones I have bought have been done whilst doing the paperwork at the dealer.
