Looking for UK sourced car cover suggestions for indoor use, in a large barn that gets dusty & can sometimes get a little damp. Is there something that is breathable but doesn't let dust through?... Any links & recommendations appreciated.

I use and recommend Noah (name of the material) breathable car covers. Mine are from California Car Covers but UK companies like Covercraft offer them too (should be cheaper from the US, even with import duty)

It may sound absurdly simple but I'd just use some king size bed sheets to deal with that. Not only will they do the job perfectly but they're dead easy to run through the washing machine.

I use Classic Additions for our cars. Kept in the garage so no bird poop to deal with, but they are beautiful quality.

Have a look on Coveryourcar.co.uk. I've used them for over ten years now and go to know Greg the owner (has a nice Lancia Delta!).

I've used a variety of their covers outdoors and in but recently I picked up two Sahara covers for storing cars inside my garage. For me they're being used more as dust covers but they can be used outdoors and are extremely light. Material is breathable as well so any moisture will travel through it but more protective than just an indoor cover.

Bit crinkly in this picture but you get the idea, you wouldn't strictly need the underbody straps but I wanted it firmly in place as I go into the garage for my car cleaning gear.

People berate covers but I've always had good experience with them.

My cars are stored in a barn just like that so interested in the answers. Those saying no cover, it really is not possible the dust that gets blown up in these barns is horrendous and birds get in a do there business everywhere

I have a car in this type of storage, tried a few covers and found that the best solution is to leave the car open, then wash it.

YMMV.

Even in a normal garage you will still get dust so a larger space where birds can do their thing isn't ideal.

I'd like to know (genuinely) why people are so averse to covers inside? Outside is a different thing as you have to consider rain and condensation forming, some covers of which don't allow moisture to escape. Also you have wind that can move a cover and if dirt gets under, can be abrasive etc. But for indoors it's a much safer bet.

A nice lightweight cover would be fine on older paintwork or even repaired as long as it's not been repainted in the last 6 months or so. No wind blowing the covers around and any bird bombs will stay on the cover and not eat into paintwork.

I'd actually do that rather than put a cover over the car; decently solid ones can be had from rock awnings (many, many other providers exist)
