Loan car under insurance

Been hit by another driver, on Xmas eve., no injuries but car undeliverable.
Is it reasonable/possible to get a replacement car today?

You can still drive it, it's only undeliverable.

It's a gamble, but you *could* arrange your own hire car for the next few days then claim for the costs.
You may find that neither your insurer or the third party will be happy about that.

How would that be unreasonable?
It's not as though the buses and trains will be running to a full schedule and taxis cost a fortune..

I think that gamble for me would depend in how much o needed a car. If needing to travel several hours to fulfil plans or work then yes. If for handyness of having a car there to nip out to Tesco I'd hold.off

I expect that all airport hire car locations are open, so if a car is needed desperately I’d be jumping on a train to the nearest airport. Or, take the opportunity to stay at home until Wednesday!!
