Hello all

Somebody crashed into my car in late October. After a bit of messing about my car went in for repair and I was given an enterprise supplied hire car.

I picked up a windscreen chip a couple of weeks ago and intended to get this sorted in the new year.

Just had a call from enterprise, telling me that the car I’m in is one of the ones that’s up for being returned off fleet and being sent for auction Friday morning. Could I please head in tomorrow and swap it out.

Naturally I picked it up on half a tank and filled it up this morning to the brim so I’ll lose out there. hehe

Does anyone know what they will charge me for a windscreen chip? Or given it’s off anyway will they actually look or care? I don’t really have any time to get it repaired between now and tomorrow as I’m away visiting family.

I would tell them you collected it with 1/2 a tank and returned it full and they hopefully won't notice the window

As its being de-fleeted can't imagine they'll be too concerned. I'd be out siphoning the diesel into jerry cans though!

Surely you're 'away on holiday' on Friday given the time of the year, but happy to return end of next week?

I raise you having a tyre blow out on the motorway & my company charged for the tyre.

Corporate hire from Enterprise.

The chip might be within their damage limitations.

Did Enterprise really say "swap it out"?

I was charged £200 excess frown The chip did turn into a crack though and it looked pretty bad.

No option to. My car policy is simply ‘mirrored’ to enterprise in terms of excess. However when I tried to make a windscreen repair claim I was told I couldnt because it’s not my insured car.
