unpopular opinion: sound l6 vs v8
Discussion
like all petrolheads, I like the brutal sound of a good V8 and it seems that the image and impact of the V8, its virile side appreciated by all, somehow forces us to see it as the engine ultimate affordable.
but for my part, I find the fruity and crispy note, the metallic crescendo of a large in-line 6-cylinder more exciting. ride them in fluid and manic regimes that never end, with knives between their teeth all the way to the red line. others share this opinion ? I know it sounds crazy...

Charms of their own.
A n/a I6 on song is lovely and has the bonus of being peerlessly smooth in normal operation. The V8 (x-plane) throbs at a crawl and "hammers" at chat - drama at both ends!
I'd take either; it's satifying that they're "natural" configurations, no need for split journals or balance shafts, just a suitably balanced crank - God's own configurations (applies elsewhere, but...)!

This is the first post in a series that will go:but for my part, I find the fruity and crispy note, the metallic crescendo of a large in-line 6-cylinder more exciting. ride them in fluid and manic regimes that never end, with knives between their teeth all the way to the red line. others share this opinion ? "I'm a petrolhead so I like V8s, really I do, but liking V8s is a societal construct so maybe really I prefer I6s"
Then
"Maybe I6s are great, but surely in a modern society I should be able to identify as a ricer if that's how I feel, so I'll get an I4"
Before long you'll be driving a Tesla, competing in our sports and cancelling anyone who asks "why are you driving up to the petrol pumps and standing next to your car when it is clearly an EV?!".
Before I get flamed, this is satire. People who prefer I6s are real petrolheads too. Kinda.
