A luxury 4x4 - probably the Aston one

Why? What would yours be?

Modern 911, 991.2 or 992. Turbo engine, bags of torque, perfect for long distance euro trips. Tyre noise a bit intrusive on crap surfaces but makes up for it through the bends

We need a budget.
Fantasy budget would be an 812.
Realistic budget would be a 10 yr old Conti GT or Rapide

Head says a Bentley Conti of some sort. Heart says a new DB12 in green with satin gold wheels.

My choice would be a Porsche Panamera. It seats 4 and can do large distances very easily. The way it corners is rediculous for such a big car.

I agree. It might not have the trim levels of a Bentley but Porsche seats are awesome. It’s also seriously mind-blowingly quick if you want to have fun on the twisty mountain roads. I had a 997 Turbo and I’d happily drive it for hours at a time. I did the highlands in it one year and it did absolutely everything perfectly.

Anything with a decently sized engine, adaptive cruise, full lane keeping, minimal wind noise, good stereo with CarPlay and some comfy seats.
I've done roughly 10k miles in my Kia Stinger through Europe and it fits the bill quite well.
Or yeah, a Bentley would be better.

Had a W12 Continental Supersport. The Alpina B5 is a better car for distance and nicer to drive. Sounds less good though. 800Nm is sufficient.

On the Porsche front, the 992's steering would disappoint me to the point of irritated every time I drove it.

If I'm driving, and it's just me in the car, a Lamborghini Aventador. I've not had the pleasure but I'm told the suspension can be nice and soft for the motorway slog parts, whilst lovely and stiff for the twisty bits. Add in the V12 soundtrack and it is surely a wonderful tourer.

If I'm in the back, a Maybach 62 or a big Roller. But who takes a tour and lets the chauffeur have all the fun?

If I'm driving, and I have my family with me, I would have to go Bentayga or Urus. The Cullinane just seems too unwieldy to be fun on a mountainside hairpin.

Bit of a vag-fest for my line up.

My RS6 Avant was effortless... but its range was crap due to MPG, and it got through tyres like It did it for fun.

Still, if I had to drive from here to London (God forbid), I'd still take it.

Fair point. Now we know there's a 150 grand budget I can buy half a dozen of them wink
Long autoroutes - Maybach. And Jeeves.
Twistier bits and luggage - RS6 with small wheels.
Hills'n'stuff - manual convertible Ferrari/Lambo with aircon and a Range Rover following behind with the luggage and a Landcruiser following the RR for when it breaks or gets nicked.

Citroen 2cv, roof open, a battered old Panama hat, keeping to the back roads, stopping in the occasional village for glass of Pernod and cold beer.

A V12 900 bhp Brabus Maybach will probably have sufficient grunt and creature comforts for me. Only issue is it's probably 8 x the budget and is as classy as Donald Trumps man thong

Well within budget though would be this - now this is how to travel and still turn heads in Casino Sq whilst still having spent less than €100k
