Time taken for DVLA to register an import?

Just about to post off the forms. I have to put a date for the tax and registration to start, which needs to be the 1st of a month. If it's taking them the 4-6 weeks mentioned on the guidance forms, then I might as well put 1st April. However if it's only realistically taking a few days then I might as well put 1st March, so I can start enjoying the car sooner. This is the first one I've done, so can anybody with some previous experience chime in please? Cheers!

Has anyone registered an imported car recently? How long did it take DVLA to complete the process?

Just done it, it took a couple of weeks in January.

If you are in a rush to be able to drive the car then tax it from 1st March, if you are not in a rush or want to save one month's tax then put first April.
