Classic 1965 Fiat export to Spain
Discussion
Can anyone offer advice on exporting a car to Spain post Brexit?
I have a 1965 LHD Fiat, its just been restored and contemplating exporting it to Spain.
It was imported into the UK on 2003, I have owned the vehicle for more than 10 years (V5 in hand)
We have an apartment over there, so can store and use a our local car.
Can anyone advise on steps, or if there is a reasonable guide on the process and potential pitfalls?

The import side will be harder than the export side, so I'd check on import procedure and Spanish registration and tax liabilities first.
The export process is pretty simple. Tick box on V5 to say vehicle is permanently exported and send section to DVLA.
Take to Spain.
The Spanish side may want a commercial invoice, and that may need extra hoops jumping through at this end.

There is probably a list somewhere on a Spanish DoT website outlining the procedure.
If it was a car coming from Spain to UK, they would want to see evidence of customs duty / import VAT having been paid, then foreign registration document, an MoT certificate or evidence of excemption, possibly a dating certificate from manufacturer or recognised club, insurance plus various forms of personal ID.

Thanks, there are headline rates around 43%
It matters what the original valuation is & if it’s accepted.
Also different by area in Spain
I have found horror stories of delays due to having a non standard tow bar etc 🤦♂️
Was hoping for some experience, seems not a well trodden path since Brexit
