Bizarre Electrical / Mechanical Fault on a Jaguar XK
Discussion
2006 Jaguar XK starts up in limp mode.
Gearbox Fault
Park Break Fault
Pedestrian System Fault
I changed the battery knowing many of the gremlins seem to resolve by changing it, nothing happened.
The bizzaro jaguar world part is the car will regain "D" drive after about 5 miles or so (every time without fail!) and if I turn the car off and on at that point it will start regularly, not in limp, why I have no idea. Jaguar specialist did some diagnostics and suggested it could be faulty gearbox/mechatronic unit, but I don't know.. why would it regain drive.
Makes me think it's a sensor / something with the battery as why else would it regain drive. Has anyone had any experience with limp mode autos regaining drive?
