Blue sun visor strip thing

Chaps, my missus wants an 80's style blue sun visor strip for the top of her windscreen.

Recommendations?

Personally I'd avoid a DIY install as these things are rarely easy unless you have experience.

Very helpful. Having thought about it a bit longer, I'll find a good wrap place and I imagine they can do it easily. I don't want to DIY and get bubbles!

And, yes, in all fairness they were around much later than that. I think a grey one was optional on the LCI M2Comp. That's probably where she got the idea.

Nope, she wants it to remind her of her dad's rally cars.

Which usually read "Gary .....Sharon". Back in the 80s I saw one on a Reliant in Bolton which showed "Bert Ethel".

I had the Shell version on a Mini years ago.

Do. My E36 had a fader strip from factory, I still miss it, wish my F30 had one, and I drive with my sunvisor permanently down. I’ve not looked for an aftermarket replacement.

Didn't many French cars come with top blue tints as standard.

a few "friends " stuck one on my car and as it was in the wiper range it was always mentioned ont he MOT as an advisory

Stick it on the outside and it'll interfere with the operation of sensors (if any) inside the screen that are concealed by it, stick it on the inside and if it has to be cut around the mirror and sensors (if any) it'll look... well, odd.

Put number roundels or squares on the doors as a reminder of the past, far more classy.

Interesting, but 3.1 of the MOT manual says that if it only affects the view of the sky then it should not be marked as such.

The car is a grey M car, so it would very much be in keeping with the theme.

This is a good shout as to maybe why they stopped having them on factory glass...the cameras.
