Getting ignored by dealership
Discussion
Wondering if anyone can suggest why I get ignored when trying to buy parts from Mazda sometimes.
Asked about anti roll bar bushes ages ago and got a quote, but didn't buy them at the time. Few months later around MOT time I then enquired seriously wanting to buy them and got no reply. Tried to phone up parts department directly and they ignored the phone call
emailed about shock absorbers and got an instant reply with quote.
emailed about updating my infotainment system firmware ( because it reboots occasionally ) , no reply. Perhaps they are not willing to mess with it
I think that is shocking service considering I bought an expensive used car off a Mazda franchise just over a year ago. And so far I have used them for yearly servicing too.
The problem is, sourcing genuine Mazda parts myself is tricky in this country as going to Mazda is sometimes the only option ( OK, some people on eBay sell genuine new parts ) But I like the idea of going to collect them in person if they are expensive.
Do dealerships prioritise certain parts over others? Such as, favouring expensive parts over small ones ( bushes etc )
Thanks !

Given that they don't know what you're calling for when they ignore your phone call I don't see how they can discriminate on the value of the business you're offering.
The problem is you're using two different communication methods (phone and email), to at least two different departments (parts and service) and are subject to human nature and how busy they are at the time you call or email.
Parts probably happy to quote - unless you've bombarded them with requests and never put your hand in your pocket.
Service usually rushed and don't have time for non-straighforward requests where maybe they have to get Mazda to pay for the job (if in warranty), and again, are they aware of your previous unfulfilled requests.
In short they're a busy business and not there to see to your every whim at that end of the market.

Tbh I don’t think you’re particularly suffered from a shocking service especially given one reply by email and you didn’t move the enquiry on previously on the prices when phoning.
If email worked well before then I would continue with that or perhaps just call in next time you are passing with a list.
