Can a car manufacturer replace a cars seat?

I have a fairly new car but was wondering as I have damaged my drivers side seat if a car manufacturer can replace this with a new one of the same design? Do car dealerships/manufactures keep these seats as parts available to order?

Yes they can.

However they possibly don’t come as an assembly - they’ll buy frame bits and foam / covers etc separately so it will be very expensive because they’ll have to assemble it.

They should be able to sell you just the cover and fit it - or you could get a trimmer to fit it.

Alternatively, if you want to replace the whole seat see if you can get one from a breakers - even new cars get scrapped, sometimes before they get delivered to a customer.

Above guys advice is spot on. Depending on what you’ve damaged, a main dealer will likely want to replace the whole thing at a ridiculous costs. Might be better to post up a photo of the damage with the make and model. Someone might be able to advise on someone who can fix it

The family Hyundai had it's optional leather seating done by the importer. The replacement squab and base was a manufacturer part but the leather had to be done by them when the facing sagged and the sponge underneath deteriorated. Is that a rare or normal occurrence I wonder?
