V5C question - bought a used car

ought a used car 1 week ago today. No v5c, taxed it using new keeper slip, but still showing the day the last log book was issued as the 3rd april rather than the 24th May. DVLA says they haven't recieved anything. Car dealer says it will take 2 weeks. I think I have a parking charge notice and obviously I won't get it. The thing is on the v5c it;s not the dealer's name its the previous owners? it was part exchange. thinking of sending a v62 off, should i do this or wait? and if i do it, should i photocopy the new keeper slip etc?
The dealer’s name won’t show on the V5, that’s not how it works.
If you have the new keeper slip, you have the reference number for the V5 (just remove the first digit from the 12 digit number on the nks) so could just do the ownership change online yourself and will get a new V5 within a few days.

Tax only runs month to month so if you tax a car on the 30th you only get 11 months and a day. It will always only be taxed to the end of a month.
Dealers often catch up with paperwork in batches and may just do a load of V5s at the end of the week. As long as they put the correct date on it as change date it will show you as keeper from the day you bought it and any fines will find their way to you eventually.

Many dealers, including a lot of main agents, sit on the V5’s until the 14 day or 30 day rejection/return window has expired. If you have to refund the customer you want to avoid another owner. You still put the correct date down but simply send them off or process them online after the 30 days.
The ticket will get to you regardless. It might go to the dealer, after first going to the auction etc who sold it to them. We get them all the time and just put the customers details on.
