SAGA car insurance

Being over the age of 50 and the Volvo V70 coming up in a few weeks i got mt renewal quote this week 405 plus i also spend 70 on breakdown... Hmmmmmm got onto MSE and Meerkats and the AA quote 350 inc courtesy car if needed and recovery etc So saving 100.00
But the SAGA one intrigued me save pounds etc Yep quote was 705.00

and they will future proof it for three years if you pay more



Any good SAGA acronyms i have Screw All Grandparents Annually

I am 50, I too thought I would give SAGA a try and it was multiples more expensive than I am already paying.

I don't get it, is it for people over 50 who have lots of money to throw away and do zero other searches as they just assume SAGA will be cheaper?

I really don't get the point of SAGA at all, you pay lots more than you would normally pay for holidays to be surrounded by old people who want to eat at 6:30 and be in bed by 8:30.

Kill me if I ever get like that.

I've insured my BMW 330i with Saga for a few years now and I only paid £284.08 in April with full protected NCD and Legal Expenses, which was cheaper than anything the meerkats came up with. Maybe being 65 made a difference?

2010 xkr 5.0 convertible insured last year saga, £177.

Renewed recently for £133 this year.

Pretty cheap I reckon.

It was really cheap for my Leaf a few years ago, now silly expensive on a zs EV.

They tried it on with wifey every renewal with a sizeable increase, she once signed up for the 3 year guaranteed price deal which seemed ok at the time.
Last renewal they wouldn't play ball negotiating to anywhere near equivalent quotes, DL came in trumps again who were up for friendly negotiation on all our premiums.

I had a quote from the a couple of years back, they wanted £900 for a Honda Jazz - curiously the same price they wanted for a Polo GTi.

But both prices were double what you could get the same insurance from competitors.

Just because it's uncompetitive for one person doesn't mean it's like that for everyone!

Currently in the final year of our fixed price three year deal - £320 annually for a 2022 Cayman GTS 4.0.

Very happy with that and cheaper than anywhere else when we took it out.

Well back in may I insured my 2007 MX5 with SAGA for £123, I sold it last week and tried to insure a Seat Leon with them it was in excess of £300 for the same cover but car worth £6k instead of £3k.

You mean that some people eat earlier and do not want to spend the night cuddled up with their soulmate?

People's body clocks tend to get set due to their working lives.

However when it comes do doing fun things with one's partner, as you get older it just gets better and more intimate without any influences from drink/partying to dull (spoil) the experience, the youngsters think they've got the making luurve thing all sewn up, hopefully they'll find out that like fine wines maturing really does improve things.

Have both our BMW and Picasso with Saga at £500 total for both cars, they have been the cheapest for me for the last three years but I am an older old fart in a quiet rural area.

Renewal is up at the end of August so be interesting to see what they quote then as prices seemed to have softened a bit this year.

SAGA also have unlimited European cover, which is very handy when you want to spend most of your time outside the UK

UK car insurance, what a rip off. They fleece us because they can. The govt need to step in. It's better and cheaper in every other country, etc.etc.etc.
