People driving round with their windows down in this heat!

WTF??
I was coming into work this morning, and noticed that around 90% of the cars had their windows down. Some were minicabs / Uber's so the driver doesn't have any control over their passengers choice to put their window down, but a lot were normal cars. They were all quite new cars so I guess they have it.
Do not they not know how a/c or climate control works? do they just turn it off and think that the outside air is cooler?

This. The novelty of an open window is rare and jolly enjoyable.My wife understands the concept of A/C and Climate Control and yet still has to have it at minus several million degrees all the time 'so the dogs don't get hot'.

This. I much prefer the windows down than air con. Better still roof down. We see so few sunny days make the most of it while you can.My aircon pump failed and I had a few days with no aircon when we had that warm spell a month of two back. It was bloody horrible driving anywhere, and way worse getting back in the car when it had been parked in the sun for a bit. Thankfully it's fixed now. I really don't like convertibles either, I'd much rather have aircon than the sun beating down on my head

Correct. Unless I’m on the motorway I much prefers windows down. Nice warm breeze is a rare experience in England

I have one of those.....Just to blow the OP's mind, I actually chose to drive it to work this morning (down the M4 no less) with the roof down and, just to live really dangerously, I had the windows down too!

I was out in the 370Z Roadster with the roof down earlier, and I was absolutely cooking! I'd got the air con blowing towards me, and my cooled seat on, but I was still sweating my socks off though.
