Registering with DVLA a classic car import from Switzerland?

I'm having a 1949 Bristol 400 brought in from Switzerland by a professional transport company who will bring it through customs and deliver it to me, presumably with the NOVA document duly signed by customs (duty already paid direct to HMRC).
My questions are as follows:
1. Do I need an Individual Vehicle Approval? It seems that vehicles over 10 years old are exempt, if they are coming in from the EU. However, Switzerland are not part of the EU or even the EEA (European Economic Area). As the car was manufactured in the UK (Filton, Bristol in 1949) will DVLA require an IVA?
2. Even though it will be MOT exempt, will they require an MOT as part of the first registration process?
3. I will furnish DVLA with photos of the car and its chassis plate with chassis and engine numbers and a Certificate of Insurance. Is there anything else I will need to provide apart from first registration fee of £55?
