What’s dangling from my Ford Cmax?

I hope someone can help.
I just noticed that there is something dangling from under the engine of my Ford Grand Cmax registered 2011.
The car was recently serviced and MOTd and got a clean bill of health. It’s running fine. Today I’ve noticed what looks like two symmetrical parts of the same thing dangling down from under the engine. It seems to be some very thin rusted metal attached to a strip of grey sponge. I think I’d be able to cut / pull it off but I don’t want to do anything before I know what it is. I’m due to go on holiday in a couple of days so can only get the car to the garage if it’s urgent / a safety issue.
I’ll attach photos if I can work out how. Any tips?

Possibly. Would that have a thick sponge strip along one side? If so, presumably it’s not a problem to trim it?
See you trying to upload pics..I wouldn’t trim it at the moment. If it’s the under tray it needs refitting, garage May have missed a few bolts or didn’t do some up tight enough if they originally had to remove it, or maybe you hit something ad it moved/broke. If you trim it, you may need to buy another one
Need to check if that’s what it is first..I could be wrong..it’s been known..
FYI see this…same piece? In the first photo you see that white cylindrical thing. That’s the oil filter so if your car was oil serviced recently they would hv removed the cover first to get to the filter..
