I appreciate that the multi car insurance policy thing has been covered many times before but who are the go to brokers/insurance co's who will insure a collection of 4+ cars (worth between £100k and £25k each)?

Search for high net worth motor fleet on Google.

I'd recommend -
Gallagher &
NFU

Hagerty have been excellent although premiums did increase significantly this year.

I have 3 cars (2 classics) with Admiral - it might be worth taking a look.

Chubb, Hiscox, NFU etc.

For brokers try Towergate, Sennocke, Footman James

Try Peter D James... I've had a collection insured with them for many years now and always received good service.

Following this as no matter what I try, it always seems cheaper to have separate policies for my collection.

I agree. It works for some people and not for others.

We used to have a family fleet policy for 12 cars that cost £2,500 pa. Sounds a lot but there were cars on there such as Merc W124 E36, C36, Golf GTi, Civic VTi, my 968 etc on the policy. Adding on another car cost around £250 as max no claims was applied, but the biggest benefit was that all 8 drivers could drive anyone elses car fully comp. We did toy with a Chubb policy where there the replacement cost could be listed as replacement value rather than market value, but this cost closer to £6k back then.

Tried Admiral but they wouldn't cover the L405 Range Rover.

Ouch. That's not great. frown

Back in the day, when I was a bit more spendy, I used Chubb for house, contents and cars. Very easy. Very expensive.

You’ll probably find NFU won’t either.

Every year they ask about issuing my cars but, even with several property insurance policies with them for years, they never want to start with the Range Rover or anything fast as the first vehicle. They’re also a PITA to work with in general as they’re stuck in the 20th century with pretty much everything done on paper/by phone.

Whenever I’ve looked in the past I’ve always found that companies can be competitive for one or two vehicles but there will be one or two where they just won’t quote or the price is way off market.

If you find anyone able to give sensible quotes for a collection that includes an L405 + classics then please to post to let us know. I’d love to get all of mine onto one policy as I currently only have two of them on a combined policy and the rest spread around all over the place.

Footman James cover has been good, and dropped just over £100 this year. Also very responsive to my requests and if it's good enough for Mr Metcalffe

was with someone who spoke to them at the nec about a sizeable collection and they seemed pretty evasive and from what we could tell it was just a bunch of individual policies with a single price.
