Getting rid of a shell

I've got the carcass of an S2000 in my garage, propped up on axle stands. There is next to nothing left. Its certainly not rolling. Can anyone suggest how I now get shot of it, and any recommendations for companies in the South East to facilitate such?

I would guess dragging it on the back of a low loader it the only option, but I don't know who to contact. And whether or not I'll be SELLING it for scrap or PAYING someone to take it away

Also in SE, Sussex. I did it with a Clio a few years ago. I rang arround a lot. They all wanted it to be able to be pushed through their yard. It's more about how they pick it up really, they want to be able to pull it onto the low loader. Otherwise you are paying I fear.

Post about it on the owners facebook page or forums? Someone on there will surely want one or pay you some beer tokens for it?

Cut it up into smaller sections and any scrap man will take it away

You could try putting it on ebay at 99p.

An advert on the S2000 owners club/FB Page along the lines of...

"FREE SHELL. (explanation of what is left and the situation). Collector is responsible for removal."

Could you put free knackered (dented) wheels on it so it can be rolled? Just collect a few (well, 4) from different posts on Facebook Marketplace or Freecycle. (I'm assuming you can connect some kind of wheels to it!)

Put it on ebay with no reserve.

If I had an S2000 & a barn I’d buy it just in case.

One day a rot free shell will be like unicorn milk.

Imagine how many good 240Z shells got binned.

If you've got an angle grinder chopping it into portable sections would work, failing that ring round scrapyards until one of them is willing to drag it out of your garage with their winch.

Screw a couple of long lengths of timber to the floor to act as skids and then drag it out.

Cutting a 45 degree chamfer on the end of the wood will also help it slide more easily. Or alternatively fix some castors to the wood.

Got rid of whole washing machine, put it in my green wheely bin

Chopped it up, took 2-3 collections, could do the same with your shell but will just take a bit longer

Drag it out of the garage, stick a sign on it saying "FOR SALE £500" and the allure of it being of significant value will no doubt attract thieves to take it unwittingly, doing you a favour.

Not sure how accessible the garage is but when I need to bin a shell I ring the scrap guy , he backs up his flat bed under my lift and drops the shell on to some wood or something so the lift legs can be removed. Before I had the lift they just dragged it on . I don’t ask any money for the shell , the ease of removal makes it seem a fair deal to me.

Last time I did this I got some mates round and we lifted the shell to end of the drive and the scrap man came and slung it on his truck.

Admittedly this was in 1983, and a mini shell. So no health and safety, and everyone helping was young and foolish

But surely an S2000 shell will not be beyond a few people and some beer.

I leave metal at the end of my drive and it disappears within a day or two without fail.

I've had my local scrapyard just come and lift it onto their truck with a hiab.

But I'm not a massive distance from them and close to a main road, so it's very little effort for them to slightly detour for a big chunk of free metal.

Have also done the "chop it up so guy in van can collect it" one, but that's more effort.

If you've got a valid V5 for the shell then eBay it with 99p reserve - as already said it's valuable in any state.
