Keeping a stock car on a road in a private estate

Are we able to keep a stock car on a trailer in a new build estate? It will be in a visitors bay

I don’t think visitor bays are designed to be your personal overflow parking. So regardless of what contracts etc say, it’s a pretty ttish thing to do.

Are you certain the road is unadopted? Just because there are signs saying 'Private access, residents only' doesn't mean much; the road could be adopted by the local authority and therefore be public highway.

If you're not paying for road repair and street lighting then it's likely adopted.

No, the parking bays are for visiting cars, or like any other new build estate overflow parking for 4 car families.

Yeah
Visitor bays = resident bay for who ever claimed it
Casual parking bay = parking for residents first come first serve.
On street parking for casual callers = parking for residents outside their own houses, grumbling when used by anyone else.
Awkward spot that you can just about fit a car in and not make it completely impossible to get a normal sized vehicle through = resident bay.
Pavement = visitor parking, plus grumbling from same residents using all the parking for driving on the pavement.

Technically I imagine you can even though you won't endear yourself to any of your neighbours or their visitors but the sales contract should presumably make this clear.
The first time you take said car and trailer out though I imagine you'll get back to find the space occupied and then have an issue.

By private estate I assume you mean an urban housing estate and not 15000 acres in the highlands?

Cause if it’s the latter it’s a mk2 escort on gravel tyres you want.

I checked this topic genuinely expecting it to be a question about MOT/SORN/insurance requirements for a car that never sees the public road.

Instead, it left me feeling sorry for their neighbours.

If it's a new build, then I imagine that there are plenty of restrictive covenants in the property's deeds (they might even tell you what sort of vehicles you're not allowed to park on your own driveway).

Regardless of that, leaving a trailer in a visitor's bay seems like a guaranteed way of annoying your new neighbours.

Over the summer I always put a big paddling pool and a sofa in one of the visitors parking spaces on our estate. As long as someone didn't selfishly stop me doing that with a stock car I'd be ok with it.

If you search Home Gardens and DIY section there is a great thread where someone is looking at a place with visitors spaces and one of the residents gets involved. That will give you an idea of the moral aspect, possibly the legal one.
