M340i vs X3 M Comp Pre-LCI vs F90 M5 Pre-LCI

Hi lads,
The wife and I are packing up in the UK and coming home to South Africa next month because of business opportunities.
We have a budget of about £45-48000 for a new to us used car and because my business operates from home mileage per year will probably only be 4-6k miles per year at the very most hence the vehicles listed as mileage is not that big of a concern. I have always wanted a M car but don't want to commit financial murder. We plan to keep our purchase for the next 5 years.
We have narrowed it down to a M340i, X3 M Comp Pre-LCI and a F90 M5 Pre-LCI.
M5 Standard Edition- 2018 Pre-LCI 35k miles CPO from BMW 1 year warranty remaining will get one without carbon ceramic brakes - Heart says M5 as you only live once...certified pre-owned from BMW and will get rod bearings and coolant reservoir replaced with after market ones just before the warranty expires, will change oil every 5k miles and plan to keep the tune completely stock. But for any that own F90 M5s how are the running costs, long term reliability etc? I plan to budget £250 a month for potential repairs/maintenance. However, the idea of running a twin turbo V8 out of warranty the following year when the warranty expires is making me stress a bit...but it is not a case that I am a fool thinking of buying a 6 year old M car and expecting it to be as reliable as a Lexus nor am I expecting it to be cheap to maintain either and I will make provision for that too, I guess my biggest concern is reliability of the 4th gen S63B44T4 engine...I could afford a catastrophic engine failure if it came down to it without going bankrupt, but it's just such a gross waste of money that could be better spent elsewhere.
2019/20 X3 M Comp Pre-LCI 25-35k miles CPO 2-3 years warranty remaining - Great family car size and loads of practicality but I hear the S58 in the pre-lci X3 M is a bit turbo laggy, for those who own one is it that laggy that it's a problem or can you simply put the trans/engine in sport mode to get around this when driving around town? We currently drive an X3 M40i in the UK and it's fast, competent but it's just not fast enough to scratch that performance car itch. S58 should be incredibly reliable so I am not concerned about long term reliability, but will still maintain it the same way as the F90 and keep the same amount of ££ per month in case.
M340i 20k miles 2021/22 - Light, fast and more modern inside than the X3 M and F90 M5 with the newer iDrive. It'll have warranty left too...I will not be as fast as the M5 or X3 M but will be about £15k cheaper...
Which would you guys choose and why? Any opinions would be highly appreciated.
