1:4 for a copy. Is CB radio making a come back?

3 times in the past week, and in different parts of the County, I have seen cars with CB radio aerials attached to the roof. Is this just a coincidence or is there a re-emergence of CB.

Just a coincidence that 3 Mums let their adult children out!

I agree about CB, works far better in a CONVOY! than the handheld radios.

I can't imagine it making a comeback as a mobile conference call (standard function on both Android and Apple) over the car's standard hands free would make much more sense.

Seems odd, can't imagine the CB signals would get through the tin foil protection of the likely suspects to be using it...

You look more of a bellend with a stupid 10 foot antenna atop the roof of your car...

I am speculating that the three people seen were driving a Zafaria, Mondeo and or 4x4 of some variety...?

Mk1 Discovery, jacked up with a "One life Live It" sticker across the front windscreen, driven by a guy in his late 40s in camo gear - normally called Greg or Ian.

Two way radio aerials come in many different sizes - how can you be 100% sure it's a CB aerial?

There's also an amateur radio band on 11 metres (25.6 to 26.1 MHz) and these aerials look very similar to CB aerials.

And then of course there are the different types; Half wave, center loaded etc. etc.

Originally I was going to add that none of the cars was your typical YOLO/Greenlaners type vehicle; they was all standard saloon. Although, for the life of me, I can't remember the make & models.

Good point, well made. I can't say for certain what 'bands' the respective drivers were using. It was just very odd that its years since I saw aerials of this type on cars and then I see 3 within 7 days of each other

Interestingly I heard someone say recently that the local cab drivers have started using it quite a lot now for a general natter.
Looking on Amazon there are modern CB radios that people clearly are actively buying so maybe!
