DVLA cio... again... sorry

Hi I really hope someone can help me please. I bought a transit motorhome that started life as a panel van.
A few days after the purchase, dvla emailed asking for photos of plates, vin numbers etc. This was sent, didn't hear anything so rang them. They said there is a problem with the vin sticker on passenger pillar as it didn't show type approval code. I rang ford Dagenham direct and as it was a commercial van 11 years old it would never have had a code at manufacture. I realise the guy that converted it should then have applied.
I rang dvla again to give this info plus my insurance company confirmed it is still reg as panel van.
They ok'd this but then said the vin number etched under the drivers wheel arch didn't look right. Four times I have rang them and they hadn't mentioned this. They are now sending police.
Checks made:
Obd2 reader shows correct vin number
Showed vehicle to mot inspecter and he said it looks totally straight and dvla didn't know what they are doing.
Previous owner has no recollection of any problems.
Vehicle has original sales plates on and all mot certs were carried out in the same town.
I really don't know what to do as this was my life savings to get my disabled husband out and about. Just very scared. Thank you

Whats the issue ? does it need to be registered as a Motorhome ? How did the DVLA get your email address ? What makes them think the chassis number is suspect ? They normally accept an MOT test centres word that the chassis is correct when registering an import so unsure why they feel the need to get involved, its funny how they are nothing but unhelpful when its a everyday person but are soon keen to give out information to a parking company to issue a fine.
