exhaust repair for swift

Hi guys if someone who knows a bit about repairs could help me that would be sooo appreciated!!!

Had my car repaired today after the middle box of the exhaust went, thought it would be 100-150 maybe at most, quoted 250 and told back box most likely to be replaced too. went to pick it up and back box not replaced, middle box replaced and charged 250. not given an itemised invoice just plain says swift 1.3 and 250 quid on it

have I been swindled here? I'm a young girl so its possible but I needed it doing and my dad questioned it when he picked it up!

You say you were quoted £250 for the middle box.
You were told that they might have to replace the back box as well but don't appear to have been given or asked for a price if that did need to be done.
As it turns out they didn't need to replace the back box.
They replaced the middle box & charged you what they quoted.
Where's the swindle?

Did you shop around or just go with the first price you were quoted?

Hi, sorry I didn’t make it clear, the price I was told was for the middle box and back box as I understood, as it was likely needed to be done, but the back box wasn’t done. His words were “this is the price because the back box is likely to be done”
So I paid for middle and back but only middle was done
Didn’t have time to shop around, needed to get to work appointments etc!
