In a sea of white-goods spec Teslas, S-Line badged Audi crossovers in some shade of grey, base-spec Mercedes everywhere, Avensis minicabs, M-badged diesel BMW cooking models.... the rare sight of an MG ZT or its 75 cousin makes them cool, even if for simply sticking two fingers up at the modern crossover/German diesel/PCP brigade by driving something old school.
It flies in the face of modern, rampant consumerism and there's actually nothing wrong at all with the ZT. Those who know, know, and those who don't, likely drive something boring and mundane to fit in with 95% of the motoring public.
Same goes for anything out there, old Saabs, old Volvos, 2cv etc..

Given that the ZR was already an extremely uncool car trying to be cool with a different badge and some add-ons, it's an odd choice. If turning it from the 75 into the ZT didn't make it cool enough for you, it's hard to imagine what would. You'd certainly struggle to find a less cool place to start from.

t about looking “cool” tend be viewed as cool by others, this goes for what car they choose to drive also, they just move in their own way, not giving much care if it’s how they should be or if this car is what they should be "seen" to be driving - and that comes across as self confident to others.
