When will our useless MPs realise something needs to be done with this situation?
A modern electric bike can travel 28mph and faster if illegaly modified.
Yet they drive around the roads and pavements without a care for anybody.
Should these bikes be treated as mopeds?
I certainly think they should have a licence/number plate.
There should be a minimum age to get a licence.
There should be a road test to get said licence which can be revoked if necessary.
If a moped drove through the city centres and on the pavements of the UK it would be stopped.

Unfortunately I see many mopeds and bigger scooters driven on pavements and along pedestrian areas with police sitting by in their cars. No feks given.
I guess it's pretty pointless for the cops to even try.
Unless you trip a camera whilst doing 23 in a 20, you can drive like a complete prat these days and you'll probably never be caught.
I see many cars, usually dark coloured Audis just bully their way through traffic, playing chicken with on coming traffic and just go where they want to.
It's so bad now, especially with the amount of tax and insurance that I pay for my motorbike that I'm tempted to get a big electric bike myself.
No fuel, no tax and no insurance. What a saving, and I'll be able to use pavements and go the wrong way down one way streets. I might even nick a few mobile phones from the gormless whilst I'm at it

If it’s doing 28mph then it is a motorcycle and no longer a bicycle. A modern electric bike can travel 28mph and faster if illegaly modified.
