Cost for brake fluid and clutch fluid renewal

Generously I'd think Wheels on an hour, wheels off 2hrs.

Obviously a ton of variables and I'm sure it's possible to do a full brake fluid flush in 10 mins including putting it on and off the lift with some models.

I'll go 120 quid given my local BM dealer wanted 200+ to do the fluid on 2 year old 1 series.

Used to do my Exige in under an hour with all the tools and a power bleeder to hand.

I'm leaning towards yes he does, you wouldn't generally post up to say you were satisfied with a quote. Maybe the OP thinks it's one of those jobs a garage should for free... whilst they're doing all those other complimentary "2 minute" jobs that see their ramps cluttered up all day and with them making a nice fat loss at the end of it.

I could be wrong though...

£300 as a "thanks but no thanks" quote. It's a relatively small job but still has the hassle of getting the car on a lift and doing it, with the supply of your own fluid suggesting it to likely be a cost saving exercise and/or being fussy.

In not much more time than it takes to bleed your brakes, they could do a service on someone elses car, while also making money on parts/consumables they replace.

I'm a hobbiest who has done everything myself, including tyre fitting, engines, clutches, electrical faults etc but always recommend letting the garage supply the parts. There might be exceptions with discussion with the garage though (e.g. I've had a garage discussion steer me towards getting a part for my car because they weren't sure of where to go for that manufacturer).

EDIT: I just saw your price. Sounds like a great deal! Surprised they didn't give you a "go-away" price.

For my Mini GP the main dealer has quoted me £135 and 2 hrs work for Brake Fluid flush as it had flagged up on the Notifications label on the info cluster, it's not something that needs doing regularly mind..

The context of this quote was that the brake and clutch fluid renewal was an additional job to the original work which was replacing the inner tie rods to the steering rack which was £70. Again I'm supplying the parts.

Brake fluid is usually changed at 3 years old and then every 2 years.

Yes, the car is a 2020 model and this is the 3rd time for fluid change...
