Talks afoot in Spain re charging Brits 100% tax if they buy a second home in Spain .
Will this really go ahead ?

I mean, plenty of people think having a second home tax for foreign nationals here is a good idea.

Haven't the Canaries done something similar?

Not Brits, non EU nationals.

So it includes Brit’s but not targeted at them.

I bet the benefits second home owners bring are far less than the harm from reduced housing stock, accelerating prices and lower occupancy.

I’ll wait for a second home owner to start jibbering about how much they contribute to the local economy in some delusion as usual.

Well, if I buy a place it would be in the canaries . . . Winter sun and all that.
When I walk around Battersea power station I think a lot of the apartments are empty as they are owned by oversea owners and we don’t charge them, maybe we should ?
