Reading the recent thread about the Jensen on Minder, and of course a PH member pops up having owned one... smile

Are there any cars out there which have never been owned by someone on Pistonheads
Probably needs some parameters, so lets say:
- mainstream (i.e. not bespoke / not low production / not hand built)
- price new < £100k (not sure what this parameter should be so am happy for people to suggest achievable cars above as long as they are sensible options!)
- on sale in the UK

I am struggling to think of any - any ideas?!

Perodua Myvi.

Some sort of rebadged Daihatsu.

Was a hire car.

I like the idea of this game but how do we figure this out?

It’s going to be tough really, we’ve all been at various points of car ownership at some time. Everyone’s started or had to downgrade to a stbox which was the cheapest thing available like my ratty Vauxhall Astra 1.4 saloon (a later version of Belmont). We’ve also needed a long distance workhorse. We’ve mostly all had a hot hatch or a more luxury type of thing and many have had the sports cars too. Loads will have gone with SUV’s at some stage. There’s crossovers between each of those categories so really, there’s nothing we collectively will not have owned.
Perhaps a Perdua thing?

Ha-ha, someone posted Perdua while I was writing war and peace!

I initially went with the Pontiac Aztec, but then missed the for sale in the UK criteria.

So - I'm going with the magnificent CityRover

There was a rumour that Hoofy briefly owned one of the first but had to let it go because the immense power was too much.

This reminds me a bit of the Cars You’ve Never Heard Of thread which, logically, ought to be empty.

Has anyone owned... A Subaru SVX? Or a Nissan Cedric? (No, really, that's what they called it!)

90s mainstream manufacturers went a bit weird. Good times, compared to the current selection of amorphous blobs on sale.

I thought that but then they were very popular for a while and did serve a purpose and there's plenty of practical minded PHers.

My shout would be Ssangyong Rexton.

Surely PH.

If you think the name's funny, consider the derivation!

One of my exes had one when I met her and it was replaced pretty much like for like when she needed a new car whilst we were still together. Dull as dull can be as a car, but she was as far from that description as possible, she just had zero interest in cars and I wasn’t going to argue given the other benefits she brought tongue out

I'm gonna say one of them old Dafs that nurses and supply teachers used to drive. Or a Ford Prefect.

I would definitely drive it in front of you in a traffic jam because then you'd have to look at the exterior design whereas I could admire whatever is in front of me. wink
