Copart and v5

My insurance company is picking up my damaged car next week via copart. I had a cherised plate on and dvla a sending a new v5 within the next few days. Do I give copart my old reg v5 or nothing. Or see if the new v5 turns up. Copart picking the car up Monday.

DVLA are pretty quick at getting documents out when requests are completed online.
However I would ensure that you are in full control of what’s happening. Delay the Copart collection (you can do this the day before) until you have your new V778 retention document and updated V5C. Have you sent them a photo of the ‘old’ V5C at all?

When I went through this recently, Copart were desperate to collect the vehicle asap & well before I’d had a payout. I kept hold of it until the £ was in my account. Obviously that might not always be possible.
