What do we think of this?
I have a very similar mini roundabout nearby although Ive never been as bloody minded to pull out in front of a psychopath straight lining it without any concession to other road users
Popcorn at the ready
Cheers
Car didn’t give way to his right, his fault.
Plain as day to me to be honest. Other chap was not driving with a lot of care/ highER speed but hardly reckless.
With experience I tend to manage to duck these idiots having come a cropper in teens/ early 20’s expecting others to do the ‘correct’ thing. Now I just expect everyone to drive like a knob and get along much better and lower stress….

Corsa is going too fast for that road, that a3 hasn’t turned into the side road as it’s giving way to a pedestrian (as they now should be under the new Highway Code revision) and the corsa moves across to overtake it instead of slowing down and waiting, fiesta would have had a obscured view by the a3.
I would say it’s still the fiestas fault but the Corsa was going far too quickly, clearly not slowing down on the approach to a roundabout, which you should always do, especially since there was traffic to his right (the camera car) which he should be giving way too.

Let’s not forget that the vehicle already on the roundabout has priority. Mini roundabouts obviously make this much less obvious but as far as I know it’s still the rule.
This ^^^ there's white lines at the entrances to the roundabout for a reason.DaveCWK said:
You only 'give way to the right' to cars already estsblished on the roundabout, not approaching at reckless speeds.
I can't make out which car entered the roundabout area first, looks basically even, so speeding aside will go for a 50/50 fault.
Pause the video clip, and you can make it out.I can't make out which car entered the roundabout area first, looks basically even, so speeding aside will go for a 50/50 fault.
Slowing down the clip, it looks to me like neither of the drivers were actually intending to avoid the marked out roundabout. The straightliner was the worst of the two, because of his speed (completely insane), lack of hazard awareness and anticipation, but if the vehicle emerging from the right had aimed to circulate correctly, he might have had a slight chance of avoiding this.
Definitely 50:50 from an insurance perspective, and both should get points on their licences.

100% this. Its a common misconception that people seem to have however so you do have to be _very_ careful of idiots steaming through. Instead of thinking of it as a roundabout imagine you're joining a one way road from a side road. When joining it you have to give way to traffic already on it *AND* you can't just join and plow into someone ahead of you already on it!

The car from the right (Fiesta?) had crossed the give way markings before the Corsa.
I would put this one down as the Corsa's (KY64 XHW) fault. In no small part however due to the excessive speed he was travelling, if he'd slowed down and checked it was clear the entire incident wouldn't have happened.

Agree with above. And disagree with Vine on pretty much everything he says or has ever said. Thoroughly unpleasant individual imo..
Unfortunately too many people thing just entering from the right gives them a carte blanche to launch into a roundabout at whatever speed takes their fancy. My absolute pet peeve are those doing this on a blind roundabout with no visibility of who might be entering from the left.
