Registration update on car search sites

Recently purchased a new to me van, logbook arrived within a couple of days and yesterday I swapped a reg number over from my old van to the new one.

DVLA said there records update immediately and doing a tax/MOT check shows this to be the case.

When looking on websites that reference registration numbers it is still showing up as the old van.

Anyone know how long it takes for these search references to update?

Tried a couple of sites and they are all the same - biggest surprise was the MID which still brings up the old vehicle!

I am assuming it is 24 or 48 thing but just curious.

Some take weeks or even months to update.

There is one website that still shows one car that I had some 12yrs ago … the plate has been on 5 other vehicles in that time.

Curiously I’ve also had parking tickets from councils generated with the wrong vehicle on months and months post-transfer … and as the vehicle is incorrect they get cancelled!

Thanks, that's interesting, will keep an eye on it and see if/when it updates.

Hopefully can manual change it on any sites that might pick up the vehicle from the reg, like ferries!
