Need more context... Make and model? Main dealer or independent?

A lot of variables will dictate how much the price is:-

- What car
- How new your car is
- How tasty was the coffee
- How shiny was the building

I’m guessing it was a German branded main dealer?

I can't tell what you've been charged from that. There seems to be a price for the 'full service' but then parts of the service broken out and priced separately.

What was the total?

Unless the pollen filter is made of gold and difficult to get at I would be more concerned about that, but if it was mine I would look at taking it somewhere else.

They are having a laugh.

1.00 FULL SERVICE (LABOUR & PARTS) £101.22. That’s not too bad
4.10 CHANGE OIL 0.00 0.00 20.00 0.00. So service is now £141.22?
1.00 CHANGE OIL FILTER 0.00 0.00 20.00 0.00
1.00 MOT 25.00 25.00 0.00 0.00 I get charged double that for mot
1.00 COLLECTION & DELIVERY 0.00 0.00 20.00 0.00
1.00 RENEW: BRAKE FLUID (SERVICE ADVISORY) £150.00. Taking the P1££
1.00 REMOVE & REFIT: POLLEN FILTER (SERVICE
ADVISORY)
£163.27. Platinum filter, usually 10 min job under dash
1.00 ENGINE INTAKE FILTER £136.89. Sounds expensive for air filter
1.00 PERFORM: LIFETIME FUEL TREATMENT AND
ENGINE FLUSH
£130.00. Did you authorise before work started
1.00 LONG LIFE OIL £27.24. Reasonable for engine oil
1.00 PERFORM: BRAKE SERVICE£ 182.73. Taking the p1££ again, so “service” costs £760 when you add up the labour costs?

What car though? Ferrari? Lamborghini? Rolls Royce?

One could ring a Dacia (Renault?) dealer to determine the price of the parts replaced and the 'book' labour time.

Might be easier to post a pic of the invoice. Crop/wipe names, business names etc.

I see the word "advisory" and if it passed then you don't need to do any of that.

It does seem pretty high, and inconsistent to me.

e.g - FULL SERVICE (LABOUR & PARTS) - why then is there later a charge for Long life oil for £37.24?
Intake filter and polen filter, I would have assumed some of this would be covered in the full service. The parts I can't imagine are very expensive so there is a lot ot labour there for those jobs.

Brake service, I would assume would be the labour + some fluid. But brake fluid is renewed earlier in the invoice. (£150). What is being done as part of the service? Just an inspection?

I’d charge you about £70 to replace both air and cabin filters at the absolute most.

Pollen filters are about £15 and 15 minutes to fit.

Engine Intake Filter £10 and 15 minutes to fit (depending on the engine it could be anything from 2-15 minutes, so I've given them the benefit of doubt)

Brake fluid change is usually around £120-150 If done properly! I'm guessing they'd syphon some out of the reservoir and top it up (bodge).

Find a trusted local and see what they'll charge for those items would be my advice.

“ Invoice “ as shown is hard to read and some of those lines I think are charged at 0 with then 20% applied - on 0.
But MOT ‘s are usually £54.85.
Cost of Brake fluid change sounds very expensive in isolation.
Be helpful to see the actual invoice posted though.

Regardless of the costs involved, it's a pretty poor way to format a quote!

I'd agree that filters would usually fall under the "full / major service" umbrella so unless you've asked for a minor service... or even just an oil change than they've quoted pollen and air filters are separate jobs, but even then it's seems expensive. Ditto the brake fluid, I'd have said an extra 30mins labour if the car is in and on the ramps already so £150 region is a lot.

But, it's very hard to decipher... so not actually very clear what's been quoted as pert of what and how?

Plenty decent, independent garages could do basic servicing for much less.
