Stand well back: Mansory Elongation coming through

If we can all agree on one thing, it is that Mansory’s styling overhaul of the Tesla Cybertruck has a fantastic name. ‘Elongation’ works on several obvious levels, all of them pleasing to the PH brain trust. Of course, from there, opinions are likely to differ somewhat. The German tuner is famously fearless when it comes to stamping its own mark on all manner of OEM products (a polite way of putting it) although for once it’s fair to say that it has its work cut out with the Cybertruck - a car that looks like what happens when you inbreed DeLoreans, according to comedian Lewis Black.
Mansory says its customisation programme has focused on three areas: exterior, interior and wheels. Let’s start with the latter as they tend to get lost in the mix, which is saying something because what you’re looking at are 26-inch rims. The ‘FD.15’ alloys are 11 inches wide and apparently designed with the ‘high wheel loads’ of the three-tonne Cybertruck in mind. Good luck finding replacements for the road-bias 315/40 R26 tyres.
When it comes to the stainless steel body, Mansory concedes that the car already has one of the most ‘extraordinary’ designs in the automotive world (also a polite way of putting it) and has contented itself with sticking mostly to carbon fibre add-on parts. These are plain enough to see, and include new bumpers front and back, flared wheel arches and two diminutive rear wings that look almost apologetic. The tuner reckons it’s all about sharpening the Cybertruck’s ‘martial appearance’, although you do wonder precisely which military vehicles it has been using for inspiration.
Finally, there’s the interior, which is all about polished surfaces, yet more carbon and full-grain leather. Naturally, Mansory will tweak all of this based on customer requirements, but it wants the cabin to be ‘impressive in a classy way’, which is admirable, though not really in keeping with the Elongation's vibe. No mention of chassis or powertrain tweaks, so we’ll assume the Cybertruck is otherwise as it was when it left the factory. Or whatever state it was in after multiple recalls. No word on price either, but no surprise there. If you need to ask, you can't afford it. Good thing too, eh...
king up designs, I thought they might have actually improved the Cybertruck...Anyone who watches Matt Armstrong on YT will be laughing at how much "Mansory" glue will have been used to stick the carbon tat onto the alloy bodywork, and be wincing at the price of it no doubt.
Fair play to the company for finding enough rich mugs to turn this into a profitable ongoing business.
