In a few weeks I'll be selling my wife's car she's had for twenty years. During that time I've collected an assortment of spares. The car was supposed to be our forever car and accumulating spares seemed sensible, but the older we get the less practical the car seems.

My question is, is there a recognised way of selling a car with spares? The car is worth something and the spares are worth something and a buyer looking for a 25 year old car might appreciate the spares. But if the first thing a buyer sees is an inflated price, they'd probably skip my advert.

Flummoxed I am.

Sell the spares separately but mention in the advert you have spares available by separate negotiation.

Offer your spares stash as an add on when you hook a buyer?

Ah, yes, I was overthinking it. Advertise the car at market value and when contacted talk about the spares. If they do want them, fine. If they don't, sell them separately afterwards.

Genius.

I was imagining a sales method existing that I wasn't familiar with.

Thanks.
