The overall shape of them looks alright to me, see a lovely BMW convertible the other day which looked real nice. One of the newer models I’m guessing.

Many people won't buy a Skoda because of the badge. My wife has had 2 Kodiaqs both Laurin & Klement and they really are beautiful. Instead people buy a poverty spec equivalent VW or Audi.

Yep. The ex Mrs NDA had a Yeti which she rather sneered at when I bought it for her (brand new). It was a great car.

Yep recent stuff, just a mishmash of dodgy angles and awful detailing. How anyone of sound mind can walk into a showroom and go "yep, that's what I want", is beyond me.

Anything new and German.
I don’t think their everyday stuff is any better than Japanese, Korean or French, and in lots of cases it’s worse.
France is absolutely nailing things at the moment… but I still… can’t… quite… do it. Old habits die hard.

Regarding EV’s the MG’s look good in their funky colours.

German stuff is the first to come to mind. They'll occasionally pass something off which could wear a Dacia badge and people will still flock to it.

Beauty is …………! and all that, I think the Panamera is one of the best looking super saloons.



This gets a free pass, because Enzo Ferrari once 'allegedly' said “Jaguar E-type was …………!" Despite there being no record of him ever saying that.

So much of this. OH has a work colleague who went for a 1.0tsi, bottom spec manual (she hates manual) 3yr old A3 with aftermarket alloys and 95k on the clock instead of a Scala 1.5tsi DSG SEL nearly new with all the toys....and is shocked that our Fabia has the same engine as her Audi...

My sister's got a Scala Monte Carlo 1.5TSI DSG, and after saving travelled in it a few times I genuinely don't understand why they're not more popular.

They're an antidote to the last couple of decades of bloat in the C segment class. Plenty of kit without having unnecessary tech, loads of room for the size of car, decent performance. You rarely see them though.

I'd take one over a cooking model A3 any day.

From a while ago now, but back in the early 2010s I had a couple of Merc B classes as short term company lease cars.
Perfectly adequate and comfortable, and if it had been fitted with a Ford, Kia or Hyundai badge I'd have thought it was quite a good car. With the Mercedes badge, it just felt cheap and plasticky.
