Number Plate Transferred Without My Permission

Hi,

Has anyone had an issue whereby their personalised number plate was transferred to another car without their permission?

I recently put my car up for sale and someone came to view it and they must have got the details they needed to transfer my number plate as I have now received a new V5 with a new number plate.

I have contacted the DVLA, but was wondering if anyone had had a similar experience?
