Meet the Ducati Panigale V4 Lamborghini edition

The tie-up between Lambo and Ducati produces its third bike, a Revuelto tribute with twice the hp per tonne

It feels safe to assume anything unveiled at Milan Design Week might skim past the enthusiast bullseye, however well-aimed. But this is unashamedly rather cool. Pairing up Lamborghini and Ducati feels like a shoo-in for easily won Italian pride, with the “third chapter” of their partnership being this new Ducati Panigale V4 Lamborghini.

It follows a Lambo-fied Streetfighter and Diavel and has been unveiled alongside a matching Revuelto to ensure no one misses the heavily stressed connection between “two iconic brands which represent Italian excellence on a world level” in their words. Or two companies joined at the hip within the larger Audi Group if we’re being a mite more pragmatic…

“When two unmistakable design languages meet, such as those of Lamborghini and Ducati, the result is the perfect expression of values such as our Italian spirit and beauty that set us apart,” says Lambo CEO Stephan Winkelmann. 

“With this partnership, Ducati has managed to masterfully interpret and translate the extreme sporting spirit and exclusivity of the Revuelto, creating a unique object that combines performance, excitement and character in pure Lamborghini style.”

That doesn’t mean the Panigale is a plug-in hybrid, mind. Its Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine claims strong links to the MotoGP grid and produces 218.5hp with the help of an Akrapovi? titanium exhaust system. A host of extra carbon for the Lamborghini special drops its weight by two kilos (over a Panigale V4 S) to 185 kg. Which means 1,181bhp/tonne – twice the claims of a Revuelto. Electronic nannies like Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) and Race eCBS are there to help the traction control and ABS keep it all in check.

Its forged aluminium wheels and wings have been redesigned to mirror the Revuelto, while its livery of Verde Scandal, Grigio Telesto and Grigio Acheso – aka plenty of green and grey – helps complete the look. Its copious carbon fibre uses the same weave as Lambo’s supercars.

The Panigale V4 Lamborghini is limited to 630 units, with a certificate of authenticity, bespoke bike cover and matching rear stand bundled into the deal while delivery comes in a customised wooden crate. Prices start at £67k, more than doubling the RRP of a standard Panigale V4 S.

But if that’s not bougie enough for you, a further 63 ‘Speciale Clienti’ examples will be offered solely to Lamborghini customers. Each will involve a chat with Ducati Centro Stile to transfer the colour scheme of your chosen car to your brand-new bike and create “a genuine custom garage where every detail reflects the customer’s identity.” Whichever Panigale V4 Lamborghini you choose, you’ll be invited to spend yet more money on a matching helmet, jacket and Dainese leathers. Go on, we dare you…

Thereare a lot cheaper ways for most of them to shed 2kg and apply some yellow paint

I know quite a few people who ride motorbikes.

I don't know anyone who would spend that sort of money on a motorbike.

This will just sit around unused in some pointless collection....

Agreed that is indeed a very special bike too. For a great deal less money.
But I guess there are collectors/money no object punters who embrace a "specially liveried" edition.

Considering that unlike most owners, I do actually ride the balls off my bikes, I'll keep my V4S in standard fayre (picked up last week from Millsport Ducati - lovely lads, and a relative snip at £34k with the Akra cans. 500 miles already, just another run up the mountains this weekend and full revs will be released come run-in service next week..... woohoooo!!!!).

I do and clearly you have no idea how big the market is for things like this.

Arch Motorcycles, the brand Keanu Reeves is involved in, start at around £90k (most are way, way more once one gets into customisation) and the Method 143 model is around $250k; they have zero problems finding customers.

I'd say the best way to look at it is the Ducati is literally 1/10th the price of the Lamborghini.

Would love one of those if I could ride bikes. Would probably park it in my living room

odd (though not in the marketing dept) to market a sportsbike which has many more thrills per hp & per € to bikers....this is a fleecing bike for car drivers.
Save yourself the hassle and buy an R for 38k, which is about the same in relative money as the 998R was but with @ 2x the BHP and all the goodies to ensure it does not end up in bits & thus a bargain. Leaving about the same to make it bend time.
Pointless which is the point.

I am seriously tempted to get one. As you say, completely pointless. On the road in the real world the Tuono Factory (my last new bike) would be much better…but the V4R is the sort of bike you would go and look at in the garage over the winter when you can’t get out on the roads.
